more treasure...

An early Happy New Year! to my non-existent readers lol.
look, it's the original vent-a-hood brochure for the house!

I've found the original paperwork from the sale of the house in May of 1954.  I remember my grandmother telling me about how she and dad would pile the kids (my mother and uncle) into the car and drive all the way down from Oceanside to eat a picnic lunch down here in Long Beach at the construction site and watch the workmen building this house.  And slogging through the mud because there wasn't a paved road yet and they had to park a couple of blocks away and walk through bean fields.  Now that she's gone I'm wishing more and more that I had written down some of the memories she shared with me.  There are so many questions I would like to ask.
I should probably scan this entire thing and post it.

Getting Verizon Fios installed today.  They asked if I had any outlets that take three prong plugs and I reminded them that this house was built in 1954.
